Gary Sweeney from Council Roads and Transportation, sent an update to explain the council's current position on the proposed speed humps at Kirn Drive in Gourock:
" I refer to the Council's recent proposal to install road humps on Kirn Drive, Gourock, from the junction with Arran Road to the junction with Divert Road, as advertised for public consultation on 21st July and 4th August 2025. As you have been consulted on the proposals, I write to provide you with an update. The Head of Physical Assets has noted and considered all responses received throughout the consultation period and has accordingly decided that the proposed installation of road humps on Kirn Drive shall not proceed at this time. The Council intend to proceed with an experimental traffic order to make Kirn Drive one-way from Arran Road to Divert Road and Staffa Street one-way from Ivy Crescent to Kingsway east. Thereafter, vehicle speeds will be monitored and the Council shall further assess the requirement for road humps in this area in due course." |
